I joined the Android application in 2024 to modernize a large Java and Kotlin codebase while continuing to deliver product work across its content, community, marketplace, mapping, account, and background-service features.

The current application uses AndroidX, Material components, coroutines, reusable Renetik Android modules, Google Maps and location services, Firebase Messaging, Analytics and Crashlytics, REST integrations, image pipelines, local storage, GoPay, and media playback.

Recent work includes Kotlin migrations for diaries, messages, rides, work, routes, and GPS logging; unified empty states and dialogs; a resilient banner system with loading and retry behavior; Media3 video playback with Google Cast; current build tooling; and automatic What’s New releases.

Practical Java-to-Kotlin migration performed feature by feature around live production behavior.

Media3 ExoPlayer and Google Cast support for integrated motorcycle video content.

Google Maps, rider POIs, routes, location tracking, and a modernized GPS logging service.
